Community Inclusion Programs

Community Inclusion Programs

Hunter Prelude is proud to work with 25 community partners to offer playgroups for children and families held in local schools. The playgroups are run weekly and fortnightly and are accessible for all families with children 0-6 years old. Being in local communities, they are also accessible to those who may experience transport difficulties and other disadvantage.

We welcome children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Children and families can receive individualised supports while participating in a playgroup which fosters community participation, learning and social interaction.

Families attending the playgroup can also receive additional individualised support in their home, local community or at one of the partners’ sites.

Playgroups are currently run at Cessnock, Dungog, Greta, Weston, Woodberry, Tenambit, Kurri Kurri, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Scone.

Hunter Prelude community partners include: community health, local schools, family support services and Aboriginal and multicultural services.
